Sound operator
Objectives
The Sound operator is responsible for the production of sounds during a show.
Appointed by the Production Manager, the Sound operator manipulates sound-effects equipment to produce the right sound at the right time.
Typical tasks and tips
- Attend the technical rehearsal and all subsequent rehearsals and performances.
- Operate sound equipment using cues provided by the Sound designer and under direction of the Stage Manager.
- Make minor repairs or adjustments to sound equipment as required.
