Auditions

Everyone is welcome to audition for Coach House Players productions.  The auditions for the remainder of this year are:

"Secondary Cause of Death"
by Peter Gordon

This show is already cast and  in production.  Come see the show!   Reserve tickets online after June 15

Production dates: July 5, 6, 7, 12, 13 & 14, 2013

at the Coach House, 12 Augusta Street, Kingston, NY [directions]

The second of the ''Inspector Pratt" trilogy.  With over 150 productions world wide, if you thought that Murdered to Death was funny, just wait until you see this one.

Inspector Pratt arrives at Bagshot House with grim news for Colonel Craddock, but that's just the beginning. Who is the strange Polish Count? Is Henrietta really an army Captain? And how does the eccentric thespian, Longfellow fit in to the equation? These are just some of the characters who make Pratt's return a chaotic nightmare as the bodies pile higher and higher.

Produced by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service

"Annual Variety Show"
Auditions:  July 8 & 9, 2013
Auditions will be held 7:00 -- 9:00 PM at the Coach House, 12 Augusta Street, Kingston, NY [directions]

Directed by Barbara Jones

Last year we were at  "The Pub", Coach House Players' acclaimed visit to the place "where everybody knows your name."  Who knows where we'll be this year?

Any Coach House member who has performed in a previous Variety Show need only call or email me* with their commitment.  They need not appear on those nights (of course, all are welcome... more than welcome... and it would make for a good showing for newbies).

Nonmembers are welcome to come to auditions at the time and dates listed above.

We will hold our first meeting on Tuesday, July 16.  That gives Monday for strike. At the Tuesday meeting a detailed overview of the show will be presented and casting for parts in bits and a vote regarding rehearsal nights (or days), whatever the group decides.

I suggest that it would help if the candidate come prepared with material they might like to perform AND a CD of the karaoke (if it is a song.) ANY talent is acceptable, be it song, dance, comedy, juggling, magic....

Also if anyone has great material they think might be suitable, even it they don't feel it's appropriate for them; pass that along as well.

Barbara
* Members can get Barbara's contact information from their membership roster; nonmembers should show up to audition at the Coach House.

Production dates: August 23, 24 & 25

"They're Playing Our Song"
by Neil Simon, Carole Bayer Sager, and Marvin Hamlisch
Auditions:  September 3, 4 & 5, 2013
Auditions will be held 7:00 -- 9:00 PM at the Coach House, 12 Augusta Street, Kingston, NY [directions]

1 male  1 female  3 additional men and 3 additional women, as backup singers on the website.

America's premier funny man and the Tony Award-winning composer of A Chorus Line collaborated on this hit musical, a funny, romantic show about an established composer and his relationship with an aspiring young female lyricist, not unlike Carole Bayer Sager. Professionally, their relationship works beautifully; but ultimately leads to conflict on the home front. Of course, there's a happy ending.

"It is fun and it is funny, full of blithe good humor, hilarious jokes and witty, pointed characterizations...The concept of the musical is absolutely beguiling...Simon has gotten himself another odd couple even odder than his first and is at his most sprightly and acidly comic." - New York Post

Production dates: November 15, 16, 17, 22, 23 & 24, 2013

Produced by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc.
